Wright's BTC gets Excellent Review on HAWAII PUBLIC TV
BEFORE THE CITY received rave reviews from Honolulu critic CHIP DAVEY on OLELO, Hawaii's Public TV Station 56. The show is entitled "Chip Davey's Book Review" and Davey read the title poem "Before the City" as well as "Winter at Oceanside Beach, California." Davey commented on the difficulty of both understanding and writing meaningful poetry but claimed that Wright's work was accessible to the average reader because of its powerful images and imaginative voice. He said BTC is available at over 13 public libraries in the State of Hawaii, including the Main Library Downtown, Kaimuki Library, Hawaii Kai Library, and Hilo Library. Copies can be purchased at Barnes & Noble Kahala Mall and Bestsellers Downtown on Bishop Street.
The Program featuring BTC will be repeated over the course of the next 6 weeks.

HAWAII PUBLIC TV to Review Kirby Wright's BEFORE THE CITY
Honolulu critic Chip Davey will review BEFORE THE CITY on Sunday, July 11th @ 6 pm on Channel 56.
It will be interesting to hear what Davey thinks of poems set in the islands, such as Wright's award-winning "Aloha,Lili'uokalani."
Davey is a prose writer and he teaches college English. He is also a former Damien High instructor. His program is entitled
